Executive Symposiums

At the core of APPEX membership is the semi-annual Executive Symposium for Performance (ESP). During these symposia, issues identified as important by APPEX Partners are addressed, financial saavy is shared, and current business and industry trends are explored. The symposia also feature the expertise of outside consultants and industry leaders.

There are two key components of the ESP, the 12 PAX and the Mentor Groups. The 12 PAX is at the heart of the APPEX improvement process. This group consists of a dozen people, sworn to confidentiality and pledged to listen, advise, share, critique, criticize and guide one another toward the accomplishment of agreed-upon goals. The 12 PAX is the most intimate APPEX forum for exchanging information and tapping into the greatest resource within the organization...an agency's peers.

A meaningful and high-level exchange of concepts, ideas and successful practices are delivered through Mentor Groups which are facilitated by APPEX staff, Partners or industry experts. Mentor Groups are formed for each ESP and are based on topics suggested by APPEX Partners and needs uncovered through the ongoing study of financial data for the entire membership.

Partnerss who are strong in certain areas serve as Mentors, helping their peers to excel. When areas for improvement are revealed, APPEX Partners are held accountable, by their peers, for plans of action.
